On July 26, 2026, the Lunar Nodes change signs. The North Node enters Aquarius, while the South Node moves into Leo, beginning a new developmental cycle that will remain active until March 26, 2028.

Every nodal ingress changes the direction of collective attention. Certain qualities must be developed because they are no longer optional, while other behaviours begin to lose their effectiveness because we have relied on them for too long.

The Leo-Aquarius axis addresses the relationship between the individual and the collective.

Leo represents personal identity, creativity, visibility, pride, leadership and the need to express what makes us unique. Aquarius represents society, networks, alliances, technology, reform and the systems through which individual contributions become part of something larger.

This does not mean that individuality must be sacrificed for the group. Aquarius does not require a population of identical people repeating the same approved opinion. That would not be a progress. It would simply be conformity wearing futuristic clothes.

The real transition is more precise.

The personal light of Leo must no longer exist only to illuminate the person carrying it. It must become useful to the wider system.

The next twenty months will test whether our talents can contribute to something larger than personal recognition, whether leadership can function without permanent applause, and whether communities can cooperate without erasing the people inside them.

This principle will become literal when humanity reaches Mars. A multiplanetary civilization cannot be built around personal glory alone. Survival will depend on cooperation, shared systems, distributed responsibility, and the ability to place individual talent in service of the whole.

These questions stand at the heart of my book, Astrology on Mars: An Areocentric Tropical System for Permanent Human Presence on Mars, which explores how astrology itself must evolve when human life moves beyond Earth.

A New World Demands New Players and New Timing. Explore the groundbreaking framework rethinking the tropical zodiac, houses, and planetary meaning from Mars.

What the Lunar Nodes Represent

The Lunar Nodes are not planets or physical objects. They are mathematical points formed where the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun around the Earth.

Astrologically, they connect three essential levels of experience:

Moon

subconscious, emotional memory and the internal patterns that operate before conscious thought

Sun

identity, will, vitality and the conscious desire to act

Earth

material reality, where thoughts, intentions and choices eventually produce visible consequences

The nodes therefore describe a chain of cause and effect. Something begins as an emotional response, internal belief or unconscious pattern. Conscious will either strengthens it, challenges it or acts upon it. Eventually, it becomes part of physical reality.

This is why the nodes are associated with karma.

Karma does not need to be understood as punishment delivered by an invisible authority. Present circumstances are connected to earlier decisions, repeated behaviours and choices that were avoided because they felt uncomfortable.

Refusing to choose does not remove us from the process. Inaction is also a choice. It protects one possibility by abandoning another.

The South Node represents what is already known. It contains developed skills, familiar responses and strategies through which we have survived before.

The North Node represents what must be learned. It describes qualities that are less natural, less rehearsed and therefore more difficult to trust.

The South Node feels safe because the ego possesses evidence that its methods have worked or survived. The North Node offers no such guarantee. It requires movement before complete certainty is available.

That discomfort is not proof that the North Node path is wrong.

It is proof that the path is new.

South Node in Leo: When Identity Becomes a Performance

Leo is the sign of creative authority. It gives the courage to be visible, to lead, to perform, to take pride in one’s work and to place a personal signature beneath what has been created.

Healthy Leo does not apologise for existing. It understands that individuality has value and that talent must sometimes be displayed before it can be recognised or used.

The South Node does not remove these qualities. It exposes where they have become automatic, exaggerated or defensive.

With the South Node in Leo, the desire to be seen may become dependence on attention. Pride may become an inability to accept correction. Leadership may become the expectation that others should organise themselves around one person’s wishes.

The individual may still possess talent, but talent alone will no longer justify every demand.

During this transit, the weaker expressions of Leo can become more visible:

  • dependence on praise or public validation

  • dramatic behaviour used to control a situation

  • entitlement to special treatment

  • leadership based on status rather than ability

  • refusal to cooperate because another person may receive credit

  • attachment to an identity that has already completed its purpose

  • creative expression that produces attention but no meaningful result

The issue is not visibility itself. The issue is using visibility as proof of value.

A person may be highly visible and contribute almost nothing. Another may work quietly within a network and change the direction of an entire organisation.

The South Node in Leo will make this distinction harder to avoid.

Some roles will begin to feel too small, even if they once brought admiration. Certain sources of recognition may become less available. Situations that previously responded to charm, performance or personal authority may begin demanding accountability, cooperation and measurable contribution.

This is not an instruction to become invisible.

It is an instruction to stop confusing the spotlight with the work.

Keep the courage of Leo. Keep the creativity. Release the belief that everyone else must become the audience.

North Node in Aquarius: Building Beyond the Self

Aquarius represents the systems that connect individuals. It governs groups, friendships, professional networks, social structures, scientific development, technology, reform and the circulation of information.

Where Leo asks, “What expresses who I am?”, Aquarius asks, “How does this function within the wider structure?”

The North Node in Aquarius requires the development of objective vision. Personal feelings remain important, but they cannot be the only factor guiding a decision. We must also consider how the decision affects the system, the group and the future.

This transit favours:

  • collaboration between people with different skills

  • communities built around shared purpose

  • technological and scientific development

  • decentralised systems and distributed responsibility

  • greater tolerance for unconventional people and ideas

  • solutions designed for long-term collective use

  • alliances based on equality rather than hierarchy

Aquarius is often described as the sign of community, but groups are not automatically intelligent or ethical. A crowd can be manipulated. A network can spread nonsense with impressive speed. A rebellion can destroy an old structure without possessing the competence to build a better one.

The North Node in Aquarius does not reward chaos merely because chaos calls itself freedom.

It demands intelligent organisation.

This is why the distinction between cooperation and rebellion becomes essential. Cooperation attempts to create a structure in which effort, responsibility and benefit can be distributed fairly. Rebellion may be necessary when a system has become corrupt, but rebellion without a plan produces another form of instability.

Aquarius must ask what comes next.

It is not enough to expose a broken structure. Someone must understand how to redesign it.

The North Node therefore directs us towards mature Aquarian qualities: strategic detachment, systems thinking, shared responsibility and the skill to work with people who do not reflect our own identity back to us.

For some, the unfamiliar challenge will be joining a group. For others, it will be allowing the group to influence a decision. For those accustomed to carrying everything alone, it may mean accepting support. For those who disappear inside collective opinion, it may mean contributing an original idea rather than hiding behind consensus.

Aquarius does not eliminate the individual.

It connects the individual to consequence.

The Book Astrology on Mars is the first areocentric tropical system made for permanent human precense on Mars.

The February 17, 2026 Solar Eclipse: The First Signal

The new karmic nodes story began before the nodes officially entered Aquarius and Leo.

On February 17, 2026, a Solar Eclipse occurred in Aquarius. It opened the eclipse sequence that continue developing through the beginning of 2028.

Because this eclipse occurred on the North Node side of the axis, it introduced unfamiliar choices. It activated the Aquarian territory before the collective had developed sufficient experience to understand where those choices would lead.

The eclipse asked questions concerning:

  • friendships and alliances

  • participation within groups

  • technological dependency

  • communication networks

  • freedom and social responsibility

  • the relationship between the individual and society

  • systems that appear modern but are structurally weak

Its square to Uranus intensified the disruption.

Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, does not usually produce gradual adjustments. It exposes instability through interruption. A system that has been surviving through temporary repairs may suddenly reveal how fragile it actually is.

The February eclipse was therefore not a quiet preview. It was a fault-line test.

Events around that period may have shown where a network, organisation, friendship or future plan could no longer continue in its existing form. Unexpected decisions may have required rapid adaptation. A personal choice may have produced consequences for several other people.

The eclipse also challenged performative rebellion.

Opposition alone is not reform. Rejecting authority does not automatically produce freedom. A genuinely Aquarian response requires the ability to create a more functional alternative.

The February eclipse opened the question.

The nodal ingress on July 26 begins the longer process of answering it.

The August 12, 2026 Solar Eclipse: New Beginnings on Familiar Ground

Less than three weeks after the nodes change signs, a Total Solar Eclipse occurs in Leo on August 12, 2026.

This eclipse is a new beginning, but it does not emerge from completely unknown territory. It occurs on the South Node side of the axis, where experience, memory and previous choices are already present.

The distinction is important.

A North Node Solar Eclipse introduces decisions that have not yet been fully rehearsed. A South Node Solar Eclipse often develops from decisions that were made earlier but have not completed their material consequences.

Something from the past may return:

  • a former ambition

  • an unfinished creative project

  • a previous relationship dynamic

  • an old leadership role

  • a decision involving children or romance

  • a public identity that requires revision

  • an opportunity connected to earlier experience

The situation may look familiar, but the conditions surrounding it have changed.

The old road remains visible. The old method of walking through it may no longer work.

This is the danger of the South Node. Familiarity can create false confidence. We may accept a situation simply because we have survived something similar before.

Survival is not the same as success.

The August eclipse asks whether the experience stored in Leo can be used differently. The personal talent may still be relevant, but the role surrounding that talent may need to change. The ambition may still be alive, but it must now account for other people, larger systems and long-term consequences.

The eclipse does not require us to discard the past. It requires us to stop repeating the past without updating it.

Jupiter in Leo: Expansion Meets Reduction

Jupiter’s presence in Leo makes this nodal transition more complicated and far more visible.

Jupiter expands whatever it touches. In Leo, it can increase confidence, creative ambition, generosity, courage and the desire to live more fully.

It can also enlarge pride, entitlement, dramatic behaviour and the belief that personal desire deserves immediate recognition.

At the same time, the South Node is moving through Leo, reducing dependence on the sign’s exhausted patterns.

One influence expands while the other deflate.

This is not a contradiction. It is the mechanism through which the problem becomes visible.

Jupiter acts like a magnifying lens. Genuine talent becomes harder to ignore, but so does inflated self-importance. Courage may produce a major opportunity, while pride may create a wall that no one else is willing to climb.

People may initially feel encouraged to take up more space, demand more recognition or pursue a larger role. The question is whether the expansion serves development or merely enlarges an old ego strategy.

Jupiter in Leo can compensate those who have learned to share effort, recognition and success. It can reward people who contribute generously without erasing their own value.

However, it may expose those who want the collective to provide resources while reserving the glory for themselves.

The key is not to suppress personal growth.

The key is to ensure that growth produces something larger than the person’s self-image.

The Historical Mirror: 2007 to 2009

The karmic nodes cycle returns to the same axis approximately every eighteen to nineteen years.

The strongest earlier reference for the coming period is 2007 to 2009, when the Leo–Aquarius eclipse story was last active.

The events will not repeat literally. The wider planetary environment is different, technology has changed, societies have changed and we are no longer the same people we were back then.

However, similar areas of experience are triggered.

Look back at that period and consider what changed in relation to:

  • friendships and social alliances

  • technology and communication

  • professional networks

  • leadership and public identity

  • creative ambitions

  • children and romantic relationships

  • relocation or changes in social environment

  • the tension between personal desires and collective circumstances

The most useful question is not, “Will the same event happen again?”

Ask instead:

What choice did I make then, and what did that choice teach me about my place within a relationship, group or system?

The years 2017-2018 may provide a secondary reference because eclipses again activated Leo and Aquarius. Those events may have introduced a smaller version of a theme that now requires a more significant decision.

The past provides evidence, not a script.

Its purpose is to show which response has already been tested and whether that response still belongs in the future.

A Series Dominated by Solar Eclipses

The Aquarius–Leo sequence from 2026 to early 2028 is dominated by Solar Eclipses:

  • Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 17, 2026

  • Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12, 2026

  • Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 6, 2027

  • Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 2, 2027

  • Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on August 17, 2027

  • Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on January 26, 2028

The dominance of Solar Eclipses places the emphasis on new beginnings, choices and developing circumstances.

This is not a story that reveals itself through one event. Each eclipse adds another chaper. Decisions made in 2026 may not show their full purpose until later eclipses return to the same signs and activate the same areas of the birth chart.

The single Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius during August 2027 suggests an important culmination within a cycle otherwise focused on initiation.

Until then, the process remains under construction.

Do not force a final answer from the first piece of information.

How to Work with the Transit Personally

Find Aquarius and Leo in your birth chart.

The house containing Aquarius shows where new participation, alliances and skills must be developed. This is the area where the future may initially feel unfamiliar or difficult to control.

The house containing Leo shows where you already possess experience, confidence or a developed identity. It also reveals where an old role, source of pride or demand for recognition may need to be revised.

Consider the following questions:

  1. Where am I maintaining a role because it once brought recognition?

  2. Which personal talent could become useful within a larger structure?

  3. Where do I expect other people to adjust to my plans without participating in the decision?

  4. Which friendship, partnership or professional network requires a fairer distribution of responsibility?

  5. Am I creating a better alternative, or am I merely rebelling against the existing structure?

  6. Which decision from 2007 to 2009 is returning in another form?

  7. What must be updated before I travel the same road again?

Do not reject the South Node’s competence. It contains real knowledge.

Do not expect the North Node to feel comfortable immediately. Comfort is not its function.

The South Node is the archive. The North Node is the unwritten file.

The task is to retrieve what remains valuable from the archive without allowing obsolete information to control every new decision.

The Real Direction of the Aquarius–Leo Axis

From July 2026 onward, personal importance will increasingly be measured against collective consequence.

Creative people will need systems capable of carrying their work. Leaders will need collaborators who are permitted to think independently. Communities will need individuals courageous enough to contribute something original instead of disappearing into group opinion.

Leo provides the fire.

Aquarius builds the electrical grid.

Without Leo, the future lacks heart, courage and creative identity. Without Aquarius, personal brilliance remains isolated and disappears when the individual leaves the room.

The purpose of this nodal transit is not to replace individuality with a faceless collective.

It is to create systems strong enough to support real individuals without requiring every individual to become the Sun.

North Node in North Node in Aquarius in the 1st House, South Node in Leo in the 7th House

The North Node moves through your 1st house, directing attention towards identity, autonomy and the way you present yourself to the world. You may feel compelled to change your appearance, priorities, personal direction or relationship with independence.

Aquarius in the 1st house does not ask you to become detached from your personality. It asks you to stop shaping that personality exclusively around other people’s expectations.

The South Node in the 7th house exposes repeated patterns in relationships, contracts and close partnerships. You may have considerable experience adapting to strong personalities or allowing a partner’s plans to determine your direction. Certain relationships may now reveal how much of your identity has been built around being chosen, admired or approved by someone else.

Partnerships are not automatically ending, but their structure must change. Relationships that allow both people to remain independent can develop. Those built around performance, dependency or one person occupying the central role may become increasingly difficult to maintain.

The lesson is to participate in relationships without surrendering authorship of your life.

North Node in Aquarius in the 2nd House, South Node in Leo in the 8th House

The North Node enters your 2nd house of income, resources, values and material security. New financial methods may become necessary, particularly those connected to technology, independent work, networks or unconventional sources of income.

You are learning how to create greater financial autonomy.

The South Node in the 8th house draws attention to shared finances, debts, taxes, inheritances, investments and emotional dependency. You may already know how to survive through another person’s resources, negotiate financial entanglements or manage periods of crisis. Yet an arrangement that once offered security may now carry too much psychological or financial control.

This transit can change the balance between what belongs to you and what is shared with others. Existing debts or agreements may need to be restructured. Emotional bonds built around rescue, obligation or financial dependency can also be tested.

Avoid dramatic financial risks taken merely to prove confidence. The goal is not reckless independence. It is a more intelligent relationship with ownership and value.

Build resources that strengthen your position without requiring another person’s crisis to sustain it.

North Node in Aquarius in the 3rd House, South Node in Leo in the 9th House

The North Node activates communication, education, writing, local connections, siblings and the practical exchange of information.

You may need to learn new technologies, develop a communication platform, begin a course or become more involved with your immediate environment. Ideas that once remained private or theoretical now require practical circulation.

The South Node in the 9th house exposes established beliefs, academic identities, moral certainty and attachment to a particular worldview. You may possess extensive knowledge, but it can become a performance when it is used mainly to establish authority.

This transit asks you to listen to information that does not arrive through prestigious or familiar channels. A brief conversation, local opportunity or new technical skill may become more useful than another grand theory.

Travel, publishing, education or legal matters can return from the past, but they may need a different method or audience.

Move from declaring what is true to investigating how information actually works in daily life.

North Node in Aquarius in the 4th House, South Node in Leo in the 10th House

The North Node enters the 4th house of home, family, property, ancestry and emotional foundations. Changes in residence, family structure or living conditions may become part of the next developmental chapter.

The future may require a home life that gives you more freedom, privacy or space to live according to your own values. Family relationships may also need a less hierarchical structure.

The South Node in the 10th house begins reducing attachment to status, public identity and professional recognition. You may already know how to perform responsibility, carry authority or maintain a respectable public image. The question is whether that role still supports your actual life.

A career position may lose some of its emotional importance, or professional ambitions may be reorganised around private needs. This does not necessarily indicate professional loss. It can signal the end of measuring success only through titles, visibility or external approval.

Property, relocation and career decisions may become closely connected.

A public role is not successful if the private life beneath it has become uninhabitable.

North Node in Aquarius in the 5th House, South Node in Leo in the 11th House

The North Node moves through your 5th house of creativity, romance, children, pleasure and personal risk.

You are being asked to create in a new way. Technology, unusual artistic methods or experimental projects may open possibilities that were previously unavailable. Romantic experiences can also become less conventional and more intellectually stimulating.

The South Node in the 11th house reveals established social roles, friendships, audiences and group identities. You may already know how to function within a community, maintain a network or gain recognition from a particular circle.

However, some affiliations may now limit creativity rather than support it. You may need to separate your genuine desires from the expectations of your audience, friends or professional community.

This axis can also bring changes involving children and their social environment. Existing group commitments may be reduced so that a personal project can receive more attention.

The North Node in the 5th house requires courage, but not performance for applause.

Create because the work is alive, not because the group has already approved it.

North Node in Aquarius in the 6th House, South Node in Leo in the 12th House

The North Node activates work, routines, health, responsibilities and practical service.

New systems are required in daily life. Technology, scheduling, teamwork or a different working environment may help you become more efficient. You may also need to develop skills that allow you to contribute to a wider organisation.

The South Node in the 12th house exposes unconscious pride, hidden exhaustion, isolation and roles that have continued behind the scenes long after their purpose ended.

You may be accustomed to carrying private burdens without asking for support. There can also be a tendency to withdraw when your contribution is not sufficiently recognised. During this transit, hidden habits begin producing visible consequences through work or health.

The solution is not to work endlessly for others. Aquarius requires fair distribution of responsibility.

Replace chaotic sacrifice with an intelligent routine. Seek medical guidance when necessary rather than attempting to interpret every physical symptom symbolically.

Your daily system must support your life, not quietly consume it.

North Node in Aquarius in the 7th House, South Node in Leo in the 1st House

The North Node enters the house of relationships, contracts, clients and formal partnerships.

Development now comes through engagement with other people. A new relationship, business agreement or professional collaboration may introduce opportunities that could not be created alone.

The South Node in the 1st house exposes an established identity and the habit of approaching life through personal will. You may be highly capable of acting independently, but independence can become resistance when no one else is permitted to influence the plan.

The challenge is not to disappear into a partnership. It is to recognise when another person brings missing knowledge, perspective or access.

Relationships based mainly on admiration may lose their attraction. Equality becomes more important than attention. Existing partnerships may require a new division of authority.

The most significant decisions of this transit may need to be negotiated rather than announced.

You do not lose power by sharing the table with someone capable.

North Node in Aquarius in the 8th House, South Node in Leo in the 2nd House

The North Node activates shared finances, psychological intimacy, investments, debts, inheritances and major resource exchanges.

You may need to learn new methods of managing joint assets or enter financial arrangements involving institutions, partners or professional networks. Emotional development also requires greater honesty about dependence, trust and control.

The South Node in the 2nd house shows considerable attachment to personal resources, established income and material proof of competence. You may know how to survive through self-reliance, but that strength can become rigidity when collaboration is necessary.

A familiar source of income may change, encouraging greater diversification. Certain possessions or financial habits may also lose their former value.

This is not an invitation to surrender control carelessly. Every agreement should be examined carefully, particularly around eclipses.

Shared resources require transparency, not blind faith.

Protect what belongs to you, but do not let possession become a wall against necessary transformation.

North Node in Aquarius in the 9th House, South Node in Leo in the 3rd House

The North Node moves through the house of higher education, travel, publishing, law, philosophy and expanded perspective.

You may begin studying an unfamiliar subject, working internationally or communicating with people whose experiences challenge your existing worldview. Technology can connect you with distant audiences, teachers or institutions.

The South Node in the 3rd house reveals familiar communication habits and established mental conclusions. You may possess confidence in your opinions, but it can become intellectual repetition.

Some conversations may feel like scripts you have performed many times. The people change, but the argument remains suspiciously identical. That is usually the clue.

This transit asks you to move beyond information that merely confirms your existing position. Writing, teaching and publishing opportunities can return, but they must address a broader future rather than repeat an old message.

Relationships with siblings or neighbours may also need less drama and clearer boundaries.

The truth may arrive from outside the territory in which you have always been considered knowledgeable.

North Node in Aquarius in the 10th House, South Node in Leo in the 4th House

The North Node enters your 10th house of career, public direction, authority and long-term achievement.

Professional growth may come through technology, collaborative work, reform-oriented organisations or industries connected to the future. A new public role can place you within a wider network or give your work greater social relevance.

The South Node in the 4th house exposes attachment to family roles, private loyalties, property or emotional patterns inherited from the past.

You may have extensive experience protecting the family, maintaining the home or organising your life around private responsibilities. During this transit, some of those obligations may need to be redistributed so that professional development becomes possible.

The challenge is not to abandon your emotional foundations. It is to recognise where family expectations have become an invisible ceiling.

Relocation, property changes or shifts within the family can accompany a new career chapter.

The future may require leaving a familiar emotional role without rejecting the people connected to it.

North Node in Aquarius in the 11th House, South Node in Leo in the 5th House

The North Node activates friendships, communities, professional networks, audiences and long-term objectives.

This is one of the strongest placements for the collective mandate of Aquarius. Development comes through alliances, shared projects and contact with people who possess skills or perspectives different from your own.

Your social circle may expand or change significantly. You may become involved with a new organisation, digital platform, humanitarian cause or professional community.

The South Node in the 5th house exposes familiar patterns involving romance, creativity, children and the need for personal recognition. A creative project may already have established your identity, but its next stage may require a team.

Romantic drama can also interfere with larger goals. A relationship based on excitement and attention may lose momentum if it cannot develop into mutual exchange and shared purpose.

This does not mean pleasure must be sacrificed for work. It means that personal desire cannot consume every available resource.

Your talent grows when it enters the network, but you must allow other people to contribute to the result.

North Node in Aquarius in the 12th House, South Node in Leo in the 6th House

The North Node moves into the 12th house of retreat, subconscious patterns, hidden processes, recovery and spiritual or psychological release.

Development may initially occur away from public view. You may need more solitude, rest, therapy, contemplation or private preparation before the next external chapter can begin.

Aquarius in the 12th house can also reveal the hidden systems influencing your life. Unconscious patterns may not be purely personal. They may come from social conditioning, family networks, professional environments or collective fears.

The South Node in the 6th house shows extensive experience with work, routine, service and responsibility. You may be accustomed to remaining useful at all times. Productivity can become part of your identity, making rest feel like failure.

During this transit, the body may insist on limits that the ego has ignored. Work arrangements can change, and duties that once proved your value may no longer justify the personal cost.

The task is not to abandon practical life. It is to stop treating exhaustion as evidence of importance.

Some of the most important work of this cycle will happen when no one is watching.

How to Read Mini-Eclipses in a Martian Birth Chart?

Find out how to identify Phobos and Deimos mini-eclipses on Mars. These brief alignments occur when one of Mars’s moons crosses the line of sight to the Sun, creating a small interruption in light and a precise timing marker within the chart.

In Astrology on Mars, you will learn how to interpret these signatures correctly. Phobos mini-eclipses indicate short bursts of urgency, procedural pressure, and reactive timing, while Deimos mini-eclipses reveal endurance themes, emotional permeability, and the psychological weight of prolonged strain. They are subtle timing indicators, not omens, and they should never override the main architecture of the birth or event chart.

The exact calculation process is provided in the official companion manual, Chart Guide Workbook: Craft Your First Martian Birth Chart. The workbook shows how to convert astronomical data into areocentric tropical coordinates, locate Phobos and Deimos, calculate Martian chart angles, and construct the complete birth chart through structured worksheets and 40 blank chart wheels.

Astrology on Mars explains what the mini-eclipse means. The Chart Guide Workbook shows you how to find it. Both are available on Amazon.
